Tomorrow is all day at the VA

Ginnie’s skipping school tomorrow to go with me so I have company . . . and I can use the carpool lanes. Her idea and she insisted.
10:00 – Copper Clinic for female checkup.
12:00 – Emerald Clinic for nutritionist to try and get weight/cholesterol/high blood pressure under control.
14:00 – Vision Clinic for eye exam and new glasses.
Sounds like fun, dudn’t it?

That’s Greek for I’m an idiot.
So I get all the way to Phoenix to the VA and the receptionist at the womens’ clinic informs me my appointment was
YESTERDAY!.
Busy day today

Gotta go to the groinocologist today for my *ahem* 6-week checkup. Been way more than 6-weeks but this one has to be at the VA instead of his office and that’s the soonest I could book the appointment. Fark the VA sometimes. If I’m feeling energetic I might stop over in my regular clinic and chat with my regular doctor about my heart.
Not that I’ve had any issues with my heart, but the whole heredity/family history has me bugged. Dad’s had the high blood pressure forever, the bypass, and the clot problems and now my sister (older by 5 years) has had two heart attacks and been stinted twice. Must be some sort of testing that can be done to rule out any issues I might have inherited?
And then to get a payday loan. My car insurance rate JUMP because of Ginnie being added has really screwed up my budget.
And then to get my car washed. Sure wish I could find the car wash that’s featured in my avatar.
Still not as busy as busyme, though.
Doctor visit

So he told me last visit that today would just be a pre-op conversation. It’s a good thing I took a shower and shaved my legs this morning.
45 minutes after my appointment time . . . he did a quick exam, we discuss what exactly the operation would entail. Grody. You don’t wanna know. I have to be at the hospital 5:30am Monday morning for surgery scheduled at 7:30, and should be in there around 48 hours.
I’ll have Ginnie post something after so y’all know everything went okay, or not as the case may be.
I’m trying not to think about this too much.
Wow, today went really well!

Got to Phoenix Memorial Hosp for mammogram 30 minutes early, and even though I told them to take their time, I was in and out before 1:30! Niiiice.
So we zoomed to the other side of downtown to the VA hospital before 2, got my blood work done, popped across the hall to the x-ray for a chest film, and across the hospital to get the EKG and was out of there by 3! DAYUM! Now that’s what medical care should be like for everyone. No sitting in around for 12 hours on MY account.
The only bad part was running all over town in 107° heat and no deodorant. Can’t use deodorant when you’re getting a mammogram. That and being in a black-on-black car w/leather seats. My poor A/C just can’t fight that midday heat.
So, I’ve been baked, squished, poked, radiated, and wired today. Then I got a nap.
Tomorrow I have to get up early and take Venus to the lab for her blood work and then to an appointment. I think Ginnie’s staying over there the rest of the week so I don’t have to share my computer for a few days.
Except Buck’s shop won’t officially open until Thursday so he thinks he’s sitting around here til then. I have got to find something for him to do.

Doc said ultrasound verified female parts full of fibroids and gunk. Will get his office “girl” to call me and schedule blood work, x-rays, and the actual surgery for the end of July-ish. Hysterectomy including ovaries and tightening the bladder – whatever that means. I couldn’t talk him into any lipo, but I’ll mention it again. Might get lucky.
Couple of days in the hospital and then a couple of weeks of pretty much bed rest. Damn, I guess that marathon training I’d planned on will have to wait.

I figured out what was wrong with my Semagic. I’d finally deleted the backup folder I had from the last time I reinstalled XP (the only way I could figure out how to get MSWorks Calendar back) and apparently this program will still going in there for dictionary and draft saving.
Wonder what other programs I’m going to have issues with. Humph.
I can’t decide whether I’m a negative person who’s usually in a good mood, or a positive person who tends to look at the dark side of life.
Gyn appointment today. Hopefully this is the day we (Doc and I) decide what exactly we’re gonna do to get rid of my female problems.

I’m just noting for the record that I went into the VA clinic today for my once-a-year and everything’s fine. Meds are the same, weight 201 (with shoes) and got a flu shot. Yee hah. The best part was, I found a halfway decent parking space AND the whole time inside was less than 45 minutes.
Now if I just didn’t have to drive all the way into downtown Phoenix in the first place, it would have been a great day.
Gotta love rush hour traffic – especially when you drag your kid along so you can use the carpool lanes.
