I don’t know why, but I just can’t stand Brooke. Every time they faun all over the girl I throw up a little in my mouth. Not too impressed by that little wanna be Kristy Lee either.

I’m betting poor David Hernandez gets bit tomorrow night. He was awful and not all that great up now anyway. David Archuletta is usually stellar, but he forgot the words THREE times before I gave up and fast forwarded to the end. If people base their votes on just tonight’s performance, that kid IS OUT.

It’s becoming more and more obvious who the best ones are. And how tough it’s going to be after half these people are gone.

The guys last night:

David Archuleta for the win. I think he’s going to be among the top three.
Jason Castro and David Cook are the other top ones.

Luke-warm Menard and Chikezie are likely out.

The girls tonight:

Carly Smithson kicked ass. Amanda Overmeyer redeemed herself but she really needs to smile more. She comes across a little snotty.

I think Syesha Mercado and probably Kristy Lee Cook are out.

Okay, why do these brats think they can pull of a Queen song? Or Whitney? You gotta seriously earn your stripes before you can do better than either of those so why try? You’re bound to be compared unflatteringly! Hello! Unless you can kick Whitney or Celine’s ass, don’t even go there.

(And I can’t stand Celine and Whitney is so over but the women can sing!)

I say the women were much better than the men. Sure there were a few that weren’t up to par. Too many look-alike blond girls with average talent. Kady, Kristy, and Alaina are virtually interchangeable

I liked Alaina, Asia’h, and Ramiele and loved Joanne, Amanda and Carly. But for some reason I can’t quite put my finger on, that Brooke bugs the crap out of me. Like if she ever becomes really famous, she’ll crack under the strain. Too high-strung or borderline psychotic or something.

And I promise to put voting results under a cut but these are just my opinions.

Now that the auditions are over

I watched tonight’s men’s show and I don’t see any stand-outs. The last two, Jason Castro (those eyes!) and Michael Johns are likely shoe-ins but the rest are just blah blah bland. Maybe Robbie and David Archuleta. Maybe.

Jason Yeager – Moon River? Seriously? Dude, that sucked.

All in all, nobody took my breath away. Nobody made me think they’ll be the winner.

Let’s hope the women are more impressive.

Dec 28th

Daughter will soon be caught up in Torchwood with me. The season preview trailer shows James Marsters in the upcoming season. I wonder if that’s for one episode or if he’ll be around for a while. I’ve been recording episodes off BBC America, unfortunately it records everything and I get three or four copies of each show. I look at my DVR list and get excited but they’re mostly repeats. Oh well.
