Damn, I’m going to be soooo busy this month! Even though I’m missing Dragon*Con this year, I won’t be sitting at home feeling sorry for myself.

Friday evening there is the usual #evfn. This week we’re back at Studio 5C. It’s a nice little gallery type place with a great patio for socializing and it’s right off Mill Ave if we want to carry on for the rest of the night. The Deadpan BBQ Saturday afternoon-evening at my friend CJ’s house. Those are always lots of fun, and with no kids around this time I’m pretty sure it’ll be even better than before.  Sunday evening is another Deadpan party, this time at the Tempe Palms hotel.

Tuesday evening I’m helping someone set up their recording studio and Wednesday night is our usual Evo@11 recording at Gangplank.  Friday (11th) I’m going to my friend Dani’s for another “Slumber Party.”  This time it’s a different presenter so we’ll have to see if she’s as funny as the last one.

My Dad turns 73 on the 13th. I wish he didn’t live so far away. He called me today while I was at IKEA so I was a bit distracted, but I had the hardest time explaining to him how my cell phone number stayed the same even though I’d moved. He just doesn’t get it. He wanted my new address so I’m standing there in the middle of the stupid store practically yelling it out for everyone to jot down. I was one of *those* people!

There’s a Brand-X T-Shirt Tweetup the following Thursday night. I’m still debating that one.

On the 18th I’m joining friends for my very first major league baseball game at Chase Field. I’ve never been so I can’t pass up this chance. After that I’ll be going to my very first Rocky Horror Picture Show! Thanks to the light rail I won’t have to do a lot of driving as everything is on the rail.

Yet another Can’t Stop the Serenity showing on the 19th. I don’t care what anyone says, it never gets old. Plus there’s a sing-along to Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog, so there!

And Kira’s 3rd Birthday is on the 29th. I don’t know what’s planned for that yet, but I’m sure we’ll do something. She’s excited. Practicing her three finger thing and asking where her birthday cake is already.

Busy, busy month and I’m sure there will be more adds to my calendar as I go along.

Plus that certain someone has said that September is a good possibility for a visit. We don’t communicate much so I’m not sure yet. Everything (except the slumber party) is something I could actually take him along and have fun. We’ll see.

I’d bet anything that Joss is one of these men. And if he is then he is a rapist in my books.

Feminazis like this give women a bad name. Does she not see that her hatred of men colors everything she does? I’m pretty sure if you look with a large enough microscope you could turn any man into a “rapist.” I love how often and wrongly that word gets thrown around. Rape is a brutal act and to compare every heterosexual sexual encounter to rape is so ridiculous as to be laughable. Any legitimacy she might have about the television show characters goes down the drain. I’m sure she was talked into unsatisfactory sex at some point in her life and screamed rape at some poor unfortunate after. And then forever claimed to be a lesbian so she’d never have to have a relationship with a man again. She’s all bullshit. She’s discounting the experiences of women who have actually been raped and belittling the pain they have to live with for the rest of their lives.

Seriously, there are women in the world who actually *gasp* enjoy sex with men. And there are even women who play at being reluctant so their men will be a little forceful! Hell, there are some women who prefer getting fucked up against a wall as hard as they can get it. I’m sure there are even a couple of women out there that ZOMG like it in the . . .

I don’t know why I bother. The bitch is probably one of those militant dykes that even slutty lesbians won’t touch. Stupid cow. It just bothers me when someone who has never been raped goes around using that word about such mundane things. It’s a slap in the face to women who’ve actually suffered.

BTW: Zoe calls Mal “sir” because their relationship started out as a military relationship and she respects his leadership role enough to carry that forward. She’s not being raped by her husband considering she could kick his ass and she initiates their encounters as often as he does. Inara choses every encounter she has which means she’s not being raped. She’s more of a lady than _allecto_ could ever be. And Kaylee likes sex, but her relationship with Jayne and Mal are more familial and the banter is affectionate rather than controlling. Doesn’t _allecto_ have siblings? Siblings talk that way to each other all the time!

(I’m not responding on her LJ because I think a person has a right to their own opinion on their own LJ. Just as I have the right to tear it apart on mine. I’m not getting into a pissing contest with a group of self-congratulating men-haters on their own turf.)

T’was the night before Christmas, with a firefly spin!

He handed to River a bright candy cane
“Eat this,” he said, “It’ll give back your brain”

Simon turned to face Santa, he’d be happy forever
“You gave me back my sister, it’s the best Christmas ever!”

To Book a new bible to Inara a dress
My lack of better rhymes put them both in distress

He walked up to Zoe and his hand did unfurl
Placed it on her belly, said “you’re having a girl!”

And then to Mal he crossed over the floor
“She loves you too” and with that said no more

Except to the fans when he said “I’ll revive,
Your show as a movie, in 2005″

With that he laid a finger aside of his nose
And giving a nod up, through the airlock he rose

Away to the cockpit, all the crew whipped
And for a third time those three switches were flipped

They saw Santa spring to his sleigh with a whistle
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle

But they heard him exclaim, ‘ere he flew out of sight
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”

Alan Tudyk is in Knocked Up! A small part. Yes, I went with Ginnie and her pal Ashley to see it yesterday. Cute movie if it weren’t so unbelievable. No, I don’t think any woman would continue to hang around that guy.

In their first conversation he tells her he smokes pot, has no money, and that his “job” is developing a website designed to help guys find the exact moment in a movie when the naked tits or bush appears. The man is foul. And that has nothing to do with his physical (un)attractiveness. He’s teddy bear cute and he actually cleans up his act in the end, but there’s absolutely nothing in the beginning that makes me believe she’d rather have him than have a baby on her own. In fact, most of the personalities in the movie are foul. I honestly can’t think of one character that I liked as a person.

AND there’s no way a company (E!) so invested in appearances would NOT notice her pregnancy even before she began to show. Seriously. The camera would pick that up and intensify it. Yes, they end up OK with it, but to wait until she’s 7 or 8 months? I don’t think so.

And all those babies in the doctor’s office were UGLY! I laughed so hard. Imagine the casting call for that scene! How do you bring your baby in for an ugly baby call?

And then I went to the Can’t Stop the Serenity thing. Stood outside (109°F) for half an hour because I wasn’t one of the FPM official group. But I caught up with them inside and saved their seats when they were up front doing the MC thing so I got to be slightly useful. Saw the movie, didn’t win any prizes, managed to get home without falling asleep. Nice night.

I had to get up early this morning to get Ginnie to work by 5:45 am but I got back home and went back to (for the record I’ve been sleeping here in the office on the futon for the last few weeks) bed. I didn’t even get dressed. I can’t remember the last time I went out of the house bra less and in boxers. Years and years of driving crap cars taught me that you NEVER leave the house without dressing like you might have to walk somewhere.

So now, I must get dressed and go to MVD because both of our vehicles are overdue for new tags.

Seriously, this is a chance to see Serenity in the theater again. Worldwide. Check here for your city and get out for a night. Most places are making it quite an event and proceeds go to charity. Times and dates differ all over the world.

Except there’s not at the moment.

Just bought my Can’t Stop the Serenity ticket today. Now if I could just get this checking account debit thing to work. And yeah, I got your comment aranel13, but it looks like you have to have a paid paypal account for that debit card.

We went to see Ice Age 2 yesterday (very cute movie though the possums are a bit annoying) and there was a preview for Garfield’s A Tale of Two Kitties. WTF?

If the original Garfield movie (which came 10 years past his prime IMHO) cost $85,000,000 (estimated) and only grossed $75,367,693 (USA) they still get to make a sequel? My gawd, did that many people go and see Garfield? What’s wrong with you people?

Serenity only cost $39,000,000 (estimated) and grossed box office $39,000,00. Essentially broke even and that’s not including DVD sales.

There HAS to be a sequel. Seriously.

I will be adding Serenity and all 4 Firefly series DVDs in my 5-disc player to my normal First/Worst Period Day spent in bed, cuddled up with my heating pad and plenty of ibuprofen.

The day was almost pleasant.
