I was a rabid fan the first season. I hit the message boards, I really got into the clues, I played the games. Ginnie and I loved LOST. By the second season I was still a fan but much more passive. I recorded and watched every week and made occasional comments about certain characters.

I’ve always disliked both Kate and Jack. I really don’t like emo characters. I’ve always liked Sawyer and Hurley the most. And over the years I appreciated the Ben character. He was brilliantly played.

But last night was a huge let down. The island as purgatory? You make peace with yourself and you finally move on? Fine if that’s what the show put out there in the first place. So what was the point of the rest of the entire series? I had noticed over the years that when a character “came to peace” they tended to die off, but that wasn’t carried across every character – just look at Rose and Bernard.  And in the end Jack had to be convinced, Sayid needed to be led – it wasn’t a decision. Utter trop.

Ending the whole thing as a religious thing leaves me wondering what was the whole point of the adventures beforehand. What was the point of the numbers? Was every battle with the Others, the constant wonder of who was good and who was evil, the time travel, the… the… the… was everything a bunch of stupid metaphors?

I wish I had missed the final episode and been left wondering. It would have been more satisfying.

Why exactly did Charlie lock the door instead of just grabbing Desmond and swimming out? They swam IN easily enough.

How long were those two women stuck down there with just each other? I can’t think of anyone I’d want to spend that much time alone with. At least the other station guys had ping-pong and Mama Cass.

“Looks like we’ve got some catching up to do” = understatement of the year.

I rewatched last night’s Lost with Ginnie earlier today. I don’t get into like I used to, taking notes and getting on the web right after to chat it up with like-minded people. Its just a show now.

But one giant enormous bullshit red flag for me this week was the ladies after they came back out of the jungle. Covered in mud (no, not midgets, mud) they wake up Jack and Sayid grab their backpacks and they all walk off into the sunset. Bullshit. They weren’t in any particular hurry because the neighborhood was abandoned and the Others had left. So what, no shower? No scrounging for food and water? Not even a change of muddy clothes? BULLSHIT!

Sawyer sure was pretty with all that smiling he did, though.

It was kind of creepy how the pre-show review program totally cut out Shannon and Boone and Walt and Michael. Not even in a background shot, not even a mention – other than “the girl needs her asthma medication.”

And no Vincent. Poor old Vincent.

Or any of the tailies that are dead. Once you’re dead you don’t even get a mention on the preview shows. How tacky is that?

The pilot is Matt from Heroes. I recall that being mentioned recently but I’d forgotten until I saw him.

Oh my gawd Lost last night! I kinda knew something was gonna happen to AnaL and Libby – because of their drunk driving fiascoes, but getting banged by Michael? Woah!

I am very angry about . . . Project Runway. Satino “designs” a jumpsuit (egads), doesn’t get it finished, it looks like shit, bullies her before she goes on the runway, he LIES about why the sleeve is falling off, he LIES about her liking the fugly thing, AND HE”S STILL THERE!

I know it’s only a TV show, but shit! The editing on that program is ridiculous. I wish there was a place to catch the unedited versions of those moments. Apparently the judges are clueless as to what goes on behind the scenes. Will his outright lying to their faces make a difference in what they do/don’t do for his future? And Heidi Klum sure wears the ugliest maternity clothes.

I entered a contest today. Wrote (eek, I wrote something!) an article for Firefly Talk. First place is the wrench Simon’s holding then drops when Kaylee snuggles up to his naked chest. *sigh* If you’re interested in reading it let me know. It’s titled My Dirty Little Secret.

I don’t think the button does anything. Those old computers don’t just restart themselves that easily after a power hit, unless they don’t really do anything. Except restart a timer, maybe. And why doesn’t the timer click off seconds until it gets to the alarm time? I thought there was another terminal closer to the beds. Why couldn’t they type the numbers in there?

Hurly’s psych ward friend? Nobody gets off this island alive so far so he can’t be an old employee. I think the whole listening post story could be true. Like Hotel California, it can be heard but not found, unless you happen to crash upon it . . . but you can never leave.

The extra vigilant and careful Tailaways didn’t notice the big honkin’ gun stuck in the back of Sawyer’s jeans? The same gun that Michael left on the raft before he crawled up on the pontoon. Gimme a break. And the whole two smaller guys lift up the bigger one-armed guy thing was stupid. They should have lifted Michael up, he’s the smallest.

If Desmond took off running and Jack and Locke continued their conversation, how did Jack catch up with
Desmond so easily?
