My New Favorite Holiday!
Dec 21st
Although it says Saturday, when I go to their handy-dandy chart it is actually at 11:08 PM tonight for me. And considering I don’t currently have a handy-dandy partner I’ll be celebrating alone.
Check out the chart for your special time and let’s all get off together! Yay!
I just got elfed.
Nov 30th
Hey, I just made a total elf of myself and my BFFs snowcalla and wickedgroovy.
Check this out.
What a great couple of days.
Nov 24th
Whew, Thursday I got up and baked my pie and went over to Casey’s friend’s house for the day. (Derek and Sherrie and their daughters Lorinda and Kristen and her fiancĂ© Ben and their daughter Krislyn.) I’ve known these people for years but I’ve never really spent time with them. Holy crap that was fun! Great dinner, great conversation, chaotic but fun. I had a couple of Strongbows throughout the day so I kicked butt at Monopoly. Actually Casey won (I taught that boy well) but we were a formidable pair. Lorinda is my new best friend. We even tried swimming and though the pool was heated, the air was too cold for the kids. As the day ran down, I took Kira home with me for the night. It’s so chaotic over there with the TV and stereo up loud and their 2-year-old granddaughter Krislyn (sp?) having her hissy fits right and left and everyone being so loud. We came home and Kira pointed at her bed and enjoyed about 45 minutes of quiet time before she eventually crashed.
We got up yesterday morning and when I asked her if she wanted to go see Daddy she actually thought it over before she finally nodded her head. So the day was full of loud and chaos and Uno and Monopoly and we tried Cranium later after the drinking. We took the girls to the park in the afternoon but it seemed to get chilly really fast so that didn’t last long. Back at the house the kids were playing and we started in on the rum punches and the evening was a blast and I came home because of the cats and dogs and I couldn’t sleep on the couch or I’d be dead this morning.
I think I’ll stay home today and drag out Christmas decorations and figure out what I can use here. Then I have a “thing” tonight that I expect will be fun too.
Life is good.
Have a nice Thanksgiving Y'all!
Nov 21st
I’m only responsible for one pie, so I’m happy. I got a Mrs. Smiths Cinnabon® Apple Crumb Pie to take over to Casey’s friend’s house for dinner. I’ll heat it up in the morning. It’s sure going to be nice NOT to have to do all the work and worrying over dinner this year. Ginnie’s going to Tucson with Cory and his family for the day. I’m joining Casey and Kira over at his friend’s for the afternoon. No clean up! I might just be nice and offer to help with dishes, or maybe not.
Max went back to HI today. No, he didn’t see his father. I took that folder of divorce papers up to his work today and the ladies in the front office were talking behind their hands and glaring at me. I saved my laughter until I was back in my car.
I have so many things/people to be thankful for this year.
Happy Veteran's Day
Nov 12th
Yes, today is the Government holiday for Veteran’s Day but it was really yesterday.
Today we are ALL going to Golden Corral, because they’re giving away free dinners to all Vets which means Max, me and Dad all eat free. We’re also pretending it’s an early Thanksgiving.
Happy Birthday Kira
Sep 29th
It’s Kira’s First Birthday today. Ginnie and I (and Talia) went out there early, and left kind of early. But they hadn’t really planned anything special for her. So she got a present from each of us and her own little cake and that’s it. Nice afternoon.
I have loaded the best of my pictures on my flickr account. Ginnie has more, but she had to take Talia to work and pick up another friend so I’ll load the best of hers later. Busy day.

Happy Anniversary to . . .
Sep 27th
Me!
What?
Hey, it’s officially our 27th Anniversary and I’m currently happy. You think because we’re separated I shouldn’t bring it up?
It wasn’t all bad. It wasn’t even bad. . . just unfulfilling, blah, annoying, and lately a waste of time and energy.
27th Anniversary on the 27th. Isn’t that some special thing, like having your 20th birthday on the 20th or something like that?
The 4th of July, a day late.
Jul 5th
First of all, I’m all better. I know you was worried. /smirk
Secondly, we actually had a pretty great day! Pictures! Not too many as I decided to have a bit of fun rather than just shooting everyone else doing it.
Lazed away the morning and then picked up Casey’s family at 1-ish. Stopped at The WalMart (you just have to say that like you’re in deep south) and stocked up on drinks and snackage, and Renee picked up July 4th outfits for the girls. Got home and went directly up to the pool. There were other people there but it wasn’t crowded. No bratty kids or obnoxious radios, just a couple of quiet families cooling off. After Kira practically drowned falling asleep in her floatie (it has this little water pocket for baby toys and she kept keeling over face first) we all trudged home for naptime.
We loaded up both vehicle and headed up to the park (I stopped for KFC for the bunch while Buck went to find two excellent parking spaces) though we were a bit early. Got there just before 6 and parked right across from where we sat. You have to check out the map I posted. Everyone fills that park according to available shade and nearness to the bandstand, as I did last year, but this time I remembered how crowded it was over there. That entire green area fills tight with people by the end of the night except where we were and it ended up being the best place to see the fireworks (teeny trees) AND not have to walk forever to and from the cars. You don’t have see the bands (large screens, too) in order to hear the music. It was a little warm getting there that early, but we had shade from one lone tree and there was a breeze. That church at the top puts out a great fireworks display, the bands aren’t necessarily Christian, there are port-a-potties galore, and they have plenty of volunteers directing traffic. Unlike the city fiasco over at the community college.
Anyway. Nice day.
And I’m reserving comments and opinions regarding Casey’s new roommate/girlfriend Renee and her daughter, who is cute but seriously needs some attention.
If I had a million ducats
Dec 21st
I’d get my #1 son a car. A decent one with A/C.
I’d get my #2 son the best care package stuff available.
I’d get my daughter all the stuff she thinks she needs but stopped asking for.
I’d get my DIL those breathe right strips so she can sleep through the night now that the baby does, or earplugs, or a separate bedroom because #1 son snores up a storm.
I’d get my husband his old truck back so he can stop being so sad.
I’d get my mother moved to a nice residence care place so I can stop feeling guilty.
I’d get my father the deed to his home so he doesn’t have to worry anymore.
ahhhhhh
