Buck’s been mumbling about trading in his ginormous gas-guzzling SuperDuty for weeks, so yesterday we went out perusing the lots for a more cost-efficient replacement. He thinks he wants a small pickup, or a mustang, or some imaginary vehicle that is better on gas mileage while still maintaining his macho man-driver Tim Allen Wannabe feelings about himself.

Whatever.

But while wandering through this one lot, Ginnie wanted to get out and close look at a ““Toaster” Parked right next to it was a Land Rover Freelander. Which, for some stupid reason I fell for.

We left and went to more lots. Buck found one Ford Ranger he though he could live with, we sat forever and worked out a deal with them to keep our payments the same, and take his truck in – sight unseen – at more than it’s really worth. But at the last moment Buck needed to think about it.

Whatever.

Home, lunch, television, nap, and I couldn’t stand it. We went back and I drove that Freelander and now it’s sitting in my garage. I traded my newer 2005 with no power/personality in and have been assured my payments would go down, even though I owed more on it than the Freelander cost. Dude, it’s a LAND ROVER. How cool is that?

So today we’re supposed to go look at more trucks for Buck. Hopefully the fact that we already bought one car this weekend won’t jinx any deal he makes. Dude has tons of equity in his truck.
