I'm depressed on accounta I'm deprived

Boy, was yesterday busy. I got up and had a few moments online before I made breakfast. Casey likes to play games, and Venus likes to develop her MySpace skillz and contact people back home, Ginnie and Buck fight over evening time. Its like take-a-number around here on the weekends.

Anyway, breakfast of French Toast and sausage and we decided to scrounge up some money and hit the state fair. Took a while to get everyone showered, packed, over to their house to dump half the baby accouterments, hit the grocery to get discount tickets and go. Had a nice time, the kids all got to ride rides, except the Slingshot Ride, which would have cost $50 for Casey and Ginnie. Those places are sooo expensive, but you just have to go once or twice in your life. We haven’t been to the state fair in 10 years. Sure blew through some cash on ride tickets and food. Got my ginormous bag of cotton candy, though. Too much walking, too. My feet, knees and lower back were killing me by the time we left.

I don’t remember how we got on the subject, but I made Buck promise me something last night. When I die I want to be cremated and have my ashes kept in a jar. Not any boring, normal urn. Something fun like a humorous cookie jar. That way he can dust me off every once in a while and I can still make him smile. And his next wife will have to have a sense of humor, too. The bitch don’t like my cookie jar or think its too creepy, she’s not the one for him. I’m thinking about this one, so he can say “She was a good egg.”

Something Something Sith

Okay, I like the Star Wars series. I haven’t memorized huge chunks of dialog, or designed costumes or anything but everyone has to see the entire series at some point in their lives.

Ginnie and I decided very last minute to see it this afternoon. 5:00 show, no lines but by the time we actually got into the theater (#14 out of 26) and got past all the seat savers we were stuck up in the back rows. With the die-hards, in costume waving light sabers. Who’ve already memorized dialog. Who laughed out loud when Palpatine morphed into ugly, and even louder when he was whining and begging Mace.

Yoda is da bomb. Mace is stupid. Obi-wan sure whimped out. And what was with general whatshischicken with the cough? Robots don’t cough. And Padme lost her will to live but sure perked up when those babies were born. By a robot? Dude, I don’t think women will ever be comfortable with a robot delivering their babies.

I don’t understand how Anakin could have started his evilness killing children. Maybe if they’d switched that around so he’d gone after the leaders first, or directed the killing of the children, but I didn’t feel he was “gone” enough to just chop up kids that looked up to him. Seemed like too much of a leap just to gross people out or something.

I laughed out loud when Padme had Leia’s mini-bun hair thing going on.

Stilted, the acting was stilted but I think it’s in keeping with the type of series it is. Almost comic book.

I give it a 4 out of 5 stars. The whole series is a must-see.
