Summer Plans: Oregon/Minnesota
I’m leaving on the 22nd for another epic road trip. Heading up to Portland Oregon first to spend a couple of days with my friends Tyler and Katie. I hear they want me to check out the hard cider in their area. I’ve never been to the great northwest so it should be fun. I’ll be taking my time driving up so I can take in the sights. Lots of nature up there.
From there I’ll be leaving on the 29th to drive across to Minneapolis to visit my good friend Cara (and hopefully Heather) and to attend CONVergence. Actually, to attend the SkepchickCon being held inside CONVergence. That reminds me I need to set up a lunch or something to see Sharon and Mike too.
I’m still trying to decide my route, whether to shoot over to California and take the I-5 up or head up through Vegas and off the major highway. And if I could twinkle my nose and not have to drive across the boring stretch between Oregon and Minneapolis it would be better but it is what it is.
Now after that I’m not sure what I’m doing. There’s my father’s family reunion in Michigan but that’s late August and I don’t know quite how to kill that time. I’ll likely head home instead.
Do I know anyone else along that route? I’ll be sleeping in my car to save money but a drive-by showering wouldn’t be a bad idea. I’ll be Foursquaring along the way so anyone who cares can keep track of where I am. And here’s hoping the money holds out, but if anyone can do this on the cheap it’s me.
