Some people need more help than others, and need more of a support system.  There is nothing wrong or shameful in that. I don&#039;t think my birth Dad would be alive today and around 15 years sober without AA and the program.But I do agree that many just use the term &quot;illness&quot; as an excuse to keep doing what they are doing and justify it. You definitely have no one to blame but yourself then.
