As the old saying goes, "I don't have to do anything but stay black and die. Everything else is a choice."The people I have the least patience with are the ones who complain about how busy their schedules are. When I take a look at what they do in a day, I can find at least 5 things that I wouldn't be doing. In my mind, you are required to go to work and make sure the kids get to school. Everything else (baseball games, church, dance lessons, etc.) is gravy and can be cut out rather than complaining about it.I choose to do the things that will have a negative consequence for me if they aren't done. I work because I have to keep a roof over my head and feed my kids. I educate my children to increase the chance that they will get good jobs and take care of me when I'm old and feeble. I do more housework than I would like because I'd like to keep having sex with my husband and a clean house makes him happy. You get the picture :-).

The word “obligation” makes my hackles rise, mainly because I think there are a lot of things that people keep saying they have to do when they put that burden on themselves.
