so don't ask if you don't want to know
Bit of an update
I’ve been sick all week. Coughing and generally feeling like death warmed over. Wednesdayish I started feeling better and today, other than an occasional need to loogie I’m planning quite a bit of away from home stuff. I did go go Gangplank Wednesday night but I wasn’t my full self and therefore screwed up the Evo podcast. Well, it didn’t save properly and I didn’t see that until I’d closed Audacity. Oh well.
I’ve managed to apply for a few jobs. The one I responded to yesterday was my favorite. Here’s hoping.
I’ve not had a cigarette since Saturday evening and don’t PLAN on having one any time soon if ever. It’s getting harder now that I feel better.
Busy weekend coming up. Tonight is EVFN, tomorrow is AZ No Pants Day on the new light rail followed by pub crawl with friends. Sunday is all day at a new friend’s house for a Battlestar Galactica marathon to get ready for the final new ones.
And I want one of these in green:

Think of Kira. You’re not that old you know. You’re going to have great grand babies in 20 years. It’d be nice to be around for them and be able to do stuff with them. And not have to carry an oxygen tank around with you. God. Oxygen tanks have become fashion statements. All the old ladies have them. You don’t really want to be one THEM do you?

Smoking doesn’t necessarily mean oxygen tanks, though. When Dad was alive, he was on oxygen for the last two years of his life. Mom made him quit smoking before they got married. I was 45 when he died.
Grandpa Weber smoked up until the last few years of his life, and he died from kidney/liver stuffage. Only reason he quit was because during one of his stints in the hospital, he was roomed with a guy with emphysema. That was enough to stop him.
Now, I’m not saying smoking is good. I *know* it’s bad for you. Hell, I’ve been quit since 2001 or so, and I still miss it. (I quit in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001.) And it wasn’t until after I quit that I became susceptible to bronchitis. (Probably because of the weight, though.)

But Deb, sorry, didn’t mean to hijack you – good for you in not having a smoke. Glad you’re feeling better. And I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you get the job you want.
