Conspiracy Theorists are stupid

Every time I hear about a government conspiracy theory I just laugh my ass off. Our government can’t wipe it’s own ass much less conspire to take down the WTC or shit like that.
For example:
August 9th, I received a letter saying I had unclaimed property. I could either fill out the form, get it (just had a brain fart on the word) notarized and send it in with a copy of my ID. Or I could go down there and turn it in, which I did a few days later. They told me when I turned it in I’d get my property within 90 days. 90 DAYS!
Turns out it was a paycheck for a short-term daycare job I had back in November of 2005.
TODAY I got two duplicate letters (at $.42 postage each) telling me they received my request August 13 and would now make a decision as to the validity of my claim. I was standing RIGHT THERE and she said it was all I needed! IF my claim is approved, then they’ll send me my itty bitty envelope within 30 days of that date.
Let’s see how long it takes.

Sure, lower the drinking age and raise the driving age.

As soon as feasibly possible.
[14] Assisted suicide is illegal: do you agree?
Nope. People should aught to be able to decide for themselves even if they can’t DO it alone.
[15] Do you believe in spanking your children?
As necessary.
[16] Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
Yes.
[17] Who do you think would make a better president? McCain or Obama?
Obama as the lesser of two evils.
[18] Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers?

How soon they forget

I heard on a podcast today that there was a WI3D recorded at Dragon*Con. My first impulse was WTF? A little pissed, a little hurt, a bit disappointed. And then I listened to it.
Let me list some former WI regulars and guests who were actually at D*C:

Brian Brown – the guy who threw down his headphones and said, “I quit” and stormed out of the studio at our last regular studio recording.
And this makes sense how? Whatever. And then when something was mentioned about other cast members not being there he had the nerve to say, “yeah, but you have the best one here.” Way to go asshole. You know, the asshole you didn’t want to be?
Brad Bower (podculture) and Brian Richardson did a good job hosting (except for their levels – Brad is a bit overpowering on this recording) and there was the usual trying of new drinks and randy innuendo. The show was fine, but as a listener it didn’t feel like a Wingin-It to me. I hope they’re all happy.
Again, whatever.
Today's Bitch Post: Automatic Toilets

I did peruse the first page on Google (Google is a bitch post for another day) and didn’t find my answers. Are automatic toilet flushers battery operated or tapped into the power lines?
I HATE AUTOMATIC TOILETS! And automatic faucets, automatic soap dispensers, and automatic paper towel dispensers, etc. Why? Because they usually don’t work the way they were intended to work.
I understand that people don’t want to touch anything in the bathroom because chances are the person in front of you had hepatitis or the bubonic plague or was just plain nasty. I get that. But there’s gotta be another way. I know there are people that think automatic flushers save water. I don’t agree. More than once I’ve been alone in a public bathroom and heard toilets flushing by themselves.
I hate when there’s stuff left in the bowl from the last guest and there’s no way to set off the flusher. I hate when you’re sitting there finishing your business and lean forward to clean yourself and the flusher activates before you’re ready. I hate when the flusher activates when you’re sitting still! I hate when your flush doesn’t get it all and you want to be a decent human being and re-flush and there’s no way to do it. I hate standing at the sink waving my hands at different angles and speeds wondering what the magic combination is to get the water to turn on. I hate when the soap dispenser piddles out some tiny amount of the nastiest slimiest “soap” that doesn’t rinse off without 5 gallons of water – and then you can’t get the water to turn back ON. And I won’t even go into the stupid paper towel machines. Y’all have been there.
AAaaaAAAaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggghhhhh!
I want disposable paper gloves you get at the door, stall locks that actually lock, toilets with foot pedals that you can flush at will, feminine hygiene containers that work like diaper genies,
faucets with a single lever handle, unscented soap, stacks of paper towels, and an empty trash can at the door.
Don’t we all?

Geeze you people are nosy.
This week was mostly spent at home doing absolutely nothing but catching up on all the podcasts I missed the weeks before. Tuesday’s helping with Tyson was canceled*, but Wednesday I managed to get to Gangplank for his lunchtime talk regarding “What is Art?” After that I hung out with Sheila and we watched a couple of movies and headed back to Gangplank for our recordings. I got both episodes edited and loaded online by midnight and then crashed for the night.
The mail was slightly interesting today. I’m for jury duty on Monday, October 27th, which is going to be logistically difficult with the Girlchild’s school schedule. Oh well, plenty of time to figure it out. Also got a short survey from Nielsen and they pre-paid me two whole dollars! Whoopie-shit.
What else? Need a man. Need a sexual partner in the worst way. Don’t want a re-la-tion-ship, just someone to come over on a quasi-regular basis and have some fun. Know anybody?
Also caught up on some DVR’d stuff. Guessed correctly who the last 5 were going to be on America’s Got Talent. Watched How to Look Good Naked, Jon and Kate Plus 8, Project Runway, and the last of the Jeremiahs. I really liked that show. I’ve checked out the new 90210 (blech) and the following show Priveledged, which isn’t bad. Netflix has provided me with a couple DVDs of Planet Earth so I’ll have something to watch this weekend. I’m pretty sure I have my DVR set for all the returning shows and I don’t think I’ve seen anything new advertised that I want to see. Maybe this podcast I’m listening to now will have some suggestions.
Oh yeah, I’ve decided to be nice and told Casey that if he wanted to invite his father to Kira’s birthday party next weekend, I’d stay away. My choice. Buck’s still apparently got issues being around me and I’m with Kira all the time so let him have that day. If he decides not to attend (which I secretly expect) I’ll go after all.
Okay, that’s all I can think of. I get paid tomorrow so I expect to click someone’s paypal button first thing in the morning. I wish I could do more.
