so don't ask if you don't want to know
It puts the lotion on it's skin
I don’t know if it’s age, or living in Arizona or what, but my skin is so dried out! I’ve always been oily oily and never thought about lotion until the last couple of years.
And I drink enough water to keep a goldfish happy. Constantly! In fact, that’s about all I drink unless I’m actually, you know, drinking.
I’m pretty sure I have a plantar wart on my foot, too. I thought it was just a sore spot where my old sandals rubbed, but it’s not going away. I can’t see that side of (outside right) my foot very well (damned bifocals/fat) but I had one when I was a kid and this feels the same. I wish I could remember how we got rid of it.
Bitch bitch bitch
I received a letter Saturday from the Arizona Department of Leftovers (Revenue) and apparently I have an “abandoned asset” there. So on the off-chance it’s MONEY and just in case showing up rather than mailing in the form means I can pick it up, that’s where I’m headed this morning.
After I drop my baby off at her first day of school. My baby is a Senior! I’m fairly certain this one will actually graduate! She’s on track and doing very well. She’s only 3.5 credits shy of graduating and her classes this year include:
World Literature
Principles of English III
American Government
Econ Principles and Practices
Veterinary Science
Trigonometry – which is a college-credit class
Me so proud.

This is gross.
I had a plantar wart when I was a kid. I had it dug out by the doctor. I was too scared of the liquid nitrogen to burn it off. Digging it out feels like nothing, because it’s not attached to nerves. She dug a bit, then I went home and put some medicated wart stuff she gave me on it, then went back a couple days later to repeat. All gone.

Re: This is gross.
Yep, they froze my plantar wart off my foot when I was in jr. high school. Didn’t hurt – and since I could barely walk on it, it felt tons better.
There are over the counter home products that kill the skin with salicylic acid and lactic acid. Those take longer but are much cheaper than going to the doctor. That may be what you are looking for. Good luck!

That’s a great-sounding courseload! Does she also work in the evenings, or is she student only?

She’s a server 2-3 nights a week at a little second-rate restaurant. I keep trying to convince her to apply at some chain place to make better tips. She’s wasting her time and energy where she’s at.

I’ve had them dug out, and burnt, but neither did the trick. The burning out with liquid nitrogen worked for the longest. Actually, I’m dealing with this on Cody right now. They have an otc product that allows you to freeze it off/out yourself. I forget the maker, but our itty bitty wal-mart has it, so I’m sure you can find it.

Warts
[ramble topic="warts"]I had a set of mosaic warts on my feet several years ago. They start out as plantar warts, but if you ignore it long enough they start to spread all over your feet. I had to visit a foot doctor because my regular MD said that liquid nitrogen will not work if there is a thick callus over the wart(s).
The way the doc explained it, your immune system is supposed to fight off the virus that is the wart, but for one reason or another, the wart flies under your immune system’s radar. You need to trigger your immune system into taking action. I was prescribed a creme that had to be applied to the warts every other day. It took a month to trigger such a reaction, and it would have cost $300 without my health insurance.
If your warts are under your heel or under the ball of your foot, it may be too deep for liquid nitrogen or the over the counter wart removers. Those are meant for shallow warts. You may want ot go to a doctor, the treatment is not quick. [/ramble]

Dermatologists say that our skin dries out quite a bit as we get older. I’ve heard that we shouldn’t take hot baths after 35. Even putting soap on your skin every day dries it out. It may have taken you longer to get to that point since you had oily skin to start with.
