so don't ask if you don't want to know
The good, the bad, and the ugly.
The good: American Idol. I have the entire finale recorded but the only important part is the last what, five or six minutes? And I’m glad I watched the end (I used my picture-in-picture thing on my DVR) because it ran over and my DVR quit recording before they actually announced the winner.
exactly who should have won. That Blake is a nice and interesting singer but Jordin has chops. That girl can sing. I still think it should have been between Miranda and Jordin and that would have been a close call. And I loved how Jordin broke up trying to sing that final song. It proves how much winning meant to her and made her even more endearing.
The bad: Have to pick up Venus and the baby to go to a doctor’s appointment this afternoon. I can’t wait. I get to drive 14 miles to their house to take her 2 miles to her doctor and back. And then drive home. She wanted me to take her used-baby-stuff shopping but I think I’ll save that until Saturday. I’ll be picking them up on the way back from dropping Buck off at Lower Buckeye Jail for his 24-hour stint.
The ugly: I hate, I hate, I hate ads with sound and music players that start automatically when a site loads. Its especially prevalent on MySpace. You pop around to check out people’s sites and suddenly music just starts up on its own while you scroll around looking for the stop button. I hate that! My MySpace music player waits politely for you to hit play.
I’m usually listening to podcasts or music on my iTunes and popping around so my sound is up, or its completely quiet between selections and I’m surfing and WHAM! some advertisement is playing some really loud cartoon noise and scares the crap out of me. Game sites are notorious for that. There should be a mute button on Firefox. Or even better, mute by tab.

no mute button, but I use two extensions for Firefox that makes browsing around Myspace not too terribly painful..
Adblock, and Flashblock.
Adblock is great at blocking animated .gif banner ads.
Flashblock puts a little play button on every piece of Flash on a website. browsing a page that’s flash-intensive? Right-click and say “allow flash from this site”. VERY EXTREMELY handy on Myspace, where it seems everyone and there brother has six bajillion little flash doodads on their page that all want to start at once.

Mine did that too! Only I didn’t get to watch it! The only good thing was, when I turned off the DVD player, they were re running the news… and going on about the winner! LOL Timing is everything!

That is one of the many reasons why I avoid MySpace. No amount of networking is worth it to me. I catch up with most of my online friends in other online spaces.
